I live in the mountains. I love living in the mountains, they are pretty but cold. I am on the swim team and I play piano. My family is really into Disney!
My favorite activity is livestock 4-H. We raise steers, pigs and chickens.
My steer's name is Charlie Brown. He is a Hereford breed. He started out pretty wild, but as you can see, after working with him, he became very tame. His diet consists of hay and sweet feed (corn, molasses, and oats). Show claves need to be brushed and cleaned on a regular basis.
These are the pigs from this year, there name's are Linus and Peppermint Patty. There are Yorkshire crossbreeds. I let them out of their pen almost everyday to take them for a walk. I also need to wash and shave their hair before showing them at the county fair. One interesting thing that I got to do this year is give the pigs shots for pneumonia, it was quite an ordeal, but they got better from the medicine and lots of tender loving care... and patience.
This is "Flash" the White Plymouth Rock rooster. He is very loud when he crows! We also have many hens that lay eggs. We raised all the hens from baby chicks. It took about 6 months for them to grow old enough to lay eggs, now they lay almost everyday. They eat chicken mash and scratch (ground up corn meal) and they really like lettuce and our family's leftover fruits and vegetables.
